Ooredoo Extends Support for Integrated Operator Billing for BlackBerry App World

22 August 2013 Qatar

Ooredoo continues to take the lead in offering a better customer experience for all, as the Group enhances operator billing options across its operations.

In July this year, Ooredoo Qatar became BlackBerry’s first partner in the Middle East to offer an operator billing option for customers, enabling them to add BlackBerry App World Purchases directly to their monthly Ooredoo bill.

Ooredoo Qatar joins Indosat in Indonesia, an Ooredoo company that launched Operator Billing last year providing convenient and secure billing options for BlackBerry App World.

Enhancing the customer experience is a major focus for Ooredoo across all its markets, and agreements with leading companies like BlackBerry are a key way for the company to offer new services and enhance customer support. Other operations are set to launch the service in the upcoming months.

Thanks to the Operator Billing agreement, customers are able to add purchases directly to their mobile bills including the purchase of digital goods such as apps or more levels to a game, to be made without interrupting the application experience or having to use a credit card.

BlackBerry App World offers a rich catalogue of apps, games and more, and integrated operator billing makes it easy and convenient for Ooredoo’s customers to enhance their BlackBerry smartphone experience.

When they sign-up for the service, BlackBerry ID provides customers with secure and device-independent user identification, so that customers can be ensured of secure payments, and are protected in case devices are lost or stolen.

Developing markets across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia continue to see strong demand for easy payment solutions for mobile content, particularly as the penetration of smartphones increases. Ooredoo is working with a range of leading developers, apps stores and device manufacturers to provide convenient, secure solutions to its customers, working across a range of operating systems.
