    Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo

    Group Chief Executive Officer

    Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo is Group Chief Executive Officer since November 2020. He was a Board member of Ooredoo Group from 2011 to 2024.  

    Previously, he served as Deputy Undersecretary for Budget, Treasury and Financial affairs at the Ministry of Finance.  

    Prior to that, he was the Co-head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Qatar Investment Authority. He is also a Board Member at Accor SA since 2015.  

    In March 2021, he was appointed as Board member of KATARA Hospitality and member of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums. In December 2021, he was appointed on the Board of Commissioners of Indosat.  

    Aziz holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from ESLSCA University.

    Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani

    Group Regional Chief Executive Officer – Middle East

    Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani was appointed Group Regional CEO for the Middle East in December 2024.

    In his new role, Sheikh Nasser oversees Ooredoo’s operations in Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for both Ooredoo Kuwait and Ooredoo Oman.

    Sheikh Nasser brings over 20 years of extensive experience, including 15 years with Ooredoo.

    Prior to his current position, he served as Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. Before that, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, where he led the company’s consumer, enterprise, and marketing units.

    Previously, he was Chief Business Officer of Ooredoo Qatar, responsible for end-to-end profit and loss accountability for Ooredoo Qatar’s B2B portfolio including Connectivity, ICT and Mega Projects as well as the Qatar Data Centre.

    Sheikh Nasser holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from Qatar University and an MBA from the University of Wales, as well as a Telecoms Mini MBA from Telecoms Academy, UK.

    Ahmad Abulaziz Al Neama

    Group Regional Chief Executive Officer - North Africa & Asia

    Ahmad Al Neama was appointed Group Regional Chief Executive Officer - North Africa & Asia in January 2022.

    In this role he oversees the strategic evolution of six Operating Companies: Ooredoo Algeria, Ooredoo Tunisia, Ooredoo Palestine, Ooredoo Maldives, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. His focus is to create synergies around digitalisation, business consolidation and partnerships to grow core business areas, and to drive top-line growth to maximise cost-efficiencies.

    Ahmad is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Algeria, Ooredoo Tunisia, and Vice-Chairman of the board of Ooredoo Palestine, as well as Commissioner at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison

    Previous key roles include President Director & Chief Executive Officer at Indosat Ooredoo from May 2019 to December 2021, Group Chief Technology Officer at Ooredoo Group from July 2017 to May 2019 and Chief Sales & Services Officer at Ooredoo Qatar from June 2015 to July 2017.

    Ahmad joined Ooredoo Qatar in 2004 and built his career taking on several roles and functions including Director of Demand and Project Management, and Senior Director of Radio Networks, bringing extensive experiences in telecoms and network engineering, as well as B2C and B2B/ICT sales and operations.

    A BSc holder in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver, Ahmad has over the years received further qualifications from the HEC Leadership Academy, Qatar Leadership Center, Arab Leadership Academy and Cranfield University & IMD, as well as additional specializations in Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Electromagnetic Fields Control and Methods of Engineering among others from leading institutions.

    Abdulla Ahmad Al Zaman

    Group Chief Finance Officer

    Abdulla Ahmed Al-Zaman was appointed Group Chief Finance Officer in March 2021.

    Previously he was CFO at Ooredoo Qatar since January 2018, after joining the Group in 2013 and holding multiple senior roles including Directorship positions on key Ooredoo internationals operating companies.

    He is responsible for facilitating organisational accountability and transparency, maintaining a long-term sustainable value for shareholders and other stakeholders.

    Mr. Al-Zaman has over 18 years highly accomplished broad-based leadership experience, in Telecommunications, Transportation and Oil & Gas industries. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Business Administration from California, USA, and an EMBA from the University of Hull, UK.

    Dr. Hamad Yahya Al Nuaimi

    Group Chief Board Affairs Officer

    Dr. Hamad Yahya Al Nuaimi was appointed Group Chief Board Affairs Officer in January 2023.

    In his current role, he provides extensive support to the offices of the Chairman, Group CEO and Deputy Group CEO and coordinates communication between the Board of Directors and Ooredoo's senior management.

    Dr. Hamad is also responsible for managing Ooredoo's senior stakeholder relations with key national and international figures and institutions, including heads of states, ministers, government agencies and international organisations.

    Prior, he was Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in Group and at Ooredoo Kuwait.

    He has an extensive and accomplished career of over 27 years in the finance, communications, media and telecoms industries and has held senior roles at QNB, which has seen its brand value jump to USD 1.3 billion, and Al Jazeera, which became among the world's top 5 brands, during his tenure.

    Dr. Hamad holds a PhD in Marketing from the UK in 2005, Marketing Research and Development.

    Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari 

    Group Chief Human Resources and Sustainability Officer

    Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari was appointed Group Chief Human Resources Officer in April 2021, and with the expansion of her department to include sustainability, she now serves as Group Chief Human Resources and Sustainability Officer. She was also appointed Chairperson of Ooredoo Maldives in December 2021. 

    She is an experienced telecommunications executive, with more than 19 years of experience in commercial, marketing, product development, digital transformation, vendor-relationship management and brand & communication. She is also the first woman in the history of Ooredoo Kuwait to be appointed as a Board member of the company. 

    Before taking-up her role as the Group’s CHRO, Fatima was Ooredoo Qatar’s Chief Consumer Officer. Previously, she was Ooredoo’s Acting Group Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). 

    In her current position, Fatima is leading the company’s strategic human resources management and transformation, and working on creating a more modern, efficient and agile way of work. 

    Fatima joined Ooredoo in 2006 and served in a number of senior roles, including Ooredoo Group’s Executive Director of Marketing and Ooredoo Qatar’s Director of Public Relations and CSR. 

    She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Qatar, an Executive Masters in Leadership from Georgetown University, USA and an MBA (specialising in Marketing) from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

    Saim Yaksan

    Group Chief Procurement Officer

    Saim Yaksan has joined Ooredoo in 2021 as Group Chief Transformation Officer leading Ooredoo' s business transformation program resulting in strong improvement across multiple business domains. In addition, Saim has assumed the role of Group Chief Procurement Officer since 2024.

    He has over 25 years of experience in Telecommunications, IT and Financial Services industries across mature and emerging markets around the world. Saim has successful record of Procurement and large-scale business transformations for several Telecom Operators, Digital & Fintech and Technology companies.

    Prior to joining Ooredoo, he was Senior Vice President at McKinsey with focus on Transformation, Procurement and ICT. Previously, Saim was Group Chief Transformation Officer for MTN leading multiple business turnarounds by establishing new digital revenue streams and cost efficiencies. He had various senior roles as CEO of MTN Cameroon, Group Chief Procurement Officer and CEO of MTN Sourcing Companies. Saim has also held several senior roles at Vodafone Group and as CPO in Vodafone operations.

    Saim holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne, Germany and participated in Erasmus scholarship program studying at Dublin City University, Ireland.

    René Werner 

    Group Chief Commercial Officer

    René Werner was appointed Group Chief Commercial Officer in January 2026.

    He has nearly 30 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries, with a strong focus on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, customer experience and and digital and retail operations.

    Prior to his current role, René served as Group Chief Strategy Officer, where he led the company’s transformation into a leading digital infrastructure provider.

    Before joining Ooredoo, he was Senior Director – Global Customer Experience and Global Service Delivery – Europe & RoW at eBay Inc. Earlier, he held several senior roles at Axiata, including Chief Customer Service and Experience Officer, where he led the turnaround of its home market operations with a strong focus on digitalisation, earning multiple international awards.

    René also held various senior positions at Deutsche Telekom Group, most recently serving as Acting Senior Vice President, Group Strategy, following an earlier career in management consulting.

    He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts (USA) and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany.

    Dr. Sara Al Asmakh

    Group Chief Audit Executive

    Dr. Sara Al Asmakh was appointed Group Chief Audit Executive in May 2026.

    She has over 17 years of experience in internal audit, risk management and governance, with a strong track record in building robust control frameworks and strengthening oversight across complex organisations.

    Prior to this role, Dr. Sara served as Chief Audit Executive at the Qatar Free Zones Authority, where she led internal audit, corporate governance and information security governance functions. She previously held the role of Director of Internal Audit at Ooredoo, where she managed financial, operational, IT and compliance audits.

    Earlier in her career, Dr. Sara held several leadership roles in risk management and insurance, including Head of Risk Management at Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance Company.

    Dr. Sara holds a PhD in Accounting and Auditing from Brunel University London, a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from HEC Paris, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds professional certifications including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

    Hilal Mohammed Al-Khulaifi

    Group Chief Legal, Regulatory & Governance Officer

    Hilal Mohammed Al-Khulaifi was appointed Group Chief Legal, Regulatory & Governance Officer in March 2023.

    Prior to joining Ooredoo, he held the position of Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI).

    Throughout his distinguished career, Al-Khulaifi has taken on several leadership roles, including Chairmanship of the Anti-Concealment Committee, the Tender and Auction Committee of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, the Health Insurance Law Drafting Committee, and the Chairman of Qatar Chamber Election Committee (2018). Additionally, he has served as Secretary of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment.

    Al-Khulaifi is an active member of various committees, including the establishment of the Court of Trade and Investment at the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, the Financial Sanctions Committee at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (CRA), and the Permanent Residential Committee at the Ministry of Interior. Moreover, he has represented the State at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

    Currently, Al-Khulaifi is a member of the International Association of Legislation (ILA) and a certified arbitrator at the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Law from Qatar University and a Master's in Law (LLM) from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom.

    Timos Tsokanis

    Group Chief Technology & Information Officer

    Timos Tsokanis was appointed Group Chief Technology & Information Officer in January 2023.

    Timos joins Ooredoo Group from his previous role as Chief Technology Officer at Ooredoo Algeria, where he was responsible for the planning, development and operations of all technology functions of the company. During his tenure at Ooredoo Algeria, Timos led an ambitious turnaround including network building; advancement of digitalisation; transformation of the IT landscape; complete Technology reorganisation and a refresh of the organisational culture.

    Timos’s career prior to joining Ooredoo Algeria saw him drive business development and manage growth through digitalisation and technology in a number of senior roles in major telecom operators across the industry.

    Timos holds a Master’s in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, USA and a Diploma in Engineering from National Technical University, Athens, Greece, as well as a number of leadership qualifications from leading professional institutions.

    Thomas Chevanne

    Group Chief Strategy and M&A Officer

    Thomas Chevanne was appointed Group Chief Strategy and M&A Officer in January 2026.

    He has nearly 30 years of experience across the telecommunications, high tech and media sectors, spanning multiple markets across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

    Prior to this role, Thomas was Group Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. He has also held key leadership positions, including Chief Strategy and Experience Officer at Indosat Ooredoo and Deputy Group Chief Commercial Officer.

    Earlier in his career, he was a senior consultant with Gemini Consulting, where advised leading telecom, high-tech and media companies on major transformation projects and transactions.

    Thomas holds a joint Master's degree in Communications and Economics from the London School of Economics and the Paris Institute of Political Sciences (“Sciences Po”).
