Ooredoo today announced that it has won three awards at the recent Middle East Investor Relations Society’s awards ceremony. The awards won were: Leading Corporate for Investor Relations Qatar; Best Investor Relations Team for Corporate Access Middle East; and Best Investor Relations Website Middle East.
The awards were made at the Middle East Investor Relations Society’s Annual Conference held on 14 November at the Ritz Carlton, DIFC in Dubai. The event was attended by more than 160 key capital market participants including investors, analysts, family offices, regulatory bodies and regional stock exchanges from across the region. The conference, which is being held for the fifth consecutive year, is the largest investor relations-focused event in the Middle East.
The awards were made to Ooredoo following a global survey of investors and analysts carried out by the Middle East Investor Relations Society and Thomson Reuters Extel.
Dr Nasser Marafih, Group Chief Executive Officer, Ooredoo, said, “We’re honoured to have received these awards as they vindicate the efforts Ooredoo makes to engage actively with its investors and analysts. We view investor relations as a strategic asset to the business and it will become increasingly important as an increasing number of global emerging market investors enter the region following the MSCI and S&P Dow Jones upgrades of both Qatar and the UAE to Emerging Market status.”
