Ooredoo Tests First 4G Technology in Tunisia

Ooredoo and Nokia are pleased to announce the launch of the first 4G technology tests in Tunisia, a historic event crowning years of hard work.

Ooredoo began to test its new 4G mobile network in Tunisia on 1 September. After being voted best operator in the Greater Tunis for its high-quality 3G Mobile technology, Ooredoo continues to gain momentum with the start of 4G network tests (LTE).

Ooredoo will also deploy pilot networks in two major cities in Tunisia, continuing its policy to democratize 4G technology across the country. While the initial 4G test results have shown a download speed equal to 69 Mb/s, this 4G technology may exceed a 100Mb browsing speed. The commercialization of 4G technology in Tunisia will be launched in the first half of 2016.
