Role Overview

To ensure AI roadmap delivery as per OG commercial roadmap across opcos.

 To support the project by providing end to end technical & business experts and liaise with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.

 The role closely collaborates with other members of the group and Opco level stakeholders.

The purpose of this job description for the AI role will drive the execution of OG's ambitious AI roadmap, with a particular focus on leveraging NLP, chatbot, and GenAI technologies. We seek an ideal candidate with a solid foundation in AI engineering, specializing in overseeing the entire AI lifecycle, including vendor management.

Key responsibilities include exploring cutting-edge technologies in NLP, chatbots, and GenAI, managing vendor relationships for AI solutions, setting up robust AI use cases, maintaining AI integrity, and crafting technology use cases tailored to leverage Ooredoo's existing data resources.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration and optimization of Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies within the telecom sector, ensuring the development of innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

  • Design and oversee the implementation of advanced Chatbot architectures tailored to address specific telecom industry challenges, leveraging cutting-edge AI techniques to deliver personalized and efficient customer interactions.

  • Develop and execute strategies for the deployment of GenAI solutions across various telecom applications, driving business growth and customer engagement through intelligent automation and predictive analytics.

  • Manage relationships with AI vendors and partners, evaluating and selecting suitable technologies and solutions to meet the evolving needs of the telecom sector, ensuring seamless integration and maximum ROI.

  • Utilize AI and machine learning algorithms to analyze telecom data, extracting actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making processes, from network optimization to customer segmentation and marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and OpCos, including product development, marketing, and customer service, to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.

  • Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the telecom sector and orchestrating the integration of new tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the AI team, staying updated on the latest advancements in NLP, Chatbots, Gen AI, and sharing knowledge and best practices with across the organization.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in Data Engineering, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of AI management principles.

  • 3+ years of experience in telecommunication Data domains.

  • Minimum of 5 years' proven track record in architecting and delivering robust AI platforms, showcasing expertise in designing scalable and efficient solutions.

  • Demonstrated deep awareness of evolving AI domain technology standards and trends in data transformation, ensuring the ability to adapt and leverage technologies effectively.

  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing end-to-end AI pipelines, showcasing proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

  • Strong proficiency with open-source community, illustrating the ability to effectively utilize distributed computing frameworks for large-scale data processing and analysis.

  • Preferably certified in AI practices, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively within agile.

Core Competencies

  • BSc in computer science, information systems or equivalent field and preferably MBA.

  • International experience, preferably in the MENA and SEA regions.
