Qtel today celebrated two major wins at the Middle East Investor Relations Society awards, when the company won “Best Company for Investor Relations in Qatar” and “Best IR website”.
The dual awards were presented at a ceremony in Dubai in recognition of Qtel’s ongoing commitment to transparency and best practice in its reporting standards.
In particular, the “Best IR Website” award named Qtel’s website as the best in the region for clarity of information and investor access.
Representing one of the largest public companies in Qatar, Qtel’s investor relations team continues to strive to
ensure that investors and regulators have round-the-clock access to information. This has become particularly important as Qtel has expanded its operations across multiple countries and multiple time-zones.
Based in Doha, the Investor Relations team plays a key role in coordinating with regulators and exchanges in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, and continues to update its online presence to meet the real-time needs of today’s markets.
Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director, Group Communications, said: “The Investor Relations team has worked hard to deliver best practices in communication to support our shareholders and investment partners. Qtel will continue to work to deliver world-class communication for our customers, shareholders and for all stakeholders through innovations like our investor relations website.”
Qtel was a regional pioneer in posting quarterly analyst presentations and audio investor conference calls online, helping to support full transparency across the investment community. The company is committed to fair, timely and ongoing disclosure as a means of achieving high levels of management transparency.
The Middle East Investor Relations Society (MEIRS) is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting excellence for investor relations standards across the region.
